How I will be remembered…a reminder from Sidney
I am probably going to weird some folks out with this note but here I go…
When I began in the risk business of long-term care, at the age of 22, I would take the ferry over to Bremerton Washington to train with a gentleman who had hundreds of clients there. He told me he would read the obituaries every day because they often gave him insight to clients and friends that may have passed, and he would need to reach. Obviously, I didn’t have many clients back then, but I did begin reading the obituaries. I still do and not because of the reason that “Mike” shared but instead for the endless inspiration that those who passed give me.
As I listened to the news that Sidney Poitier passed last Thursday I again was inspired. His perseverance to push boundaries and elevate others to do the same is nothing short of powerful and profound. Each day we interact with many and with each interaction can inspire and impact others.
What would your obituary say? How do we want to be remembered?
Live on and Live Well!
